The
last may not have been heard of the abduction saga involving Ese Oruru,
a 13-year-old girl from Bayelsa State, as the Force Headquarters has
vowed to deal with any officer or officers indicted at the end of
investigations into the circumstances surrounding the crime.
This
is as the Police, again, failed to present the victim before
journalists at the Louis Edet House in Abuja, ostensibly owing to the
fact that she is a minor, and so ought to be protected.
However,
the victim’s mother, whose name was given as Mrs. Rose Oruru,
acknowledged the efforts made at various levels, that culminated in her
daughter’s rescue. She was not allowed to take questions.
Making
the disclosure Wednesday in Abuja, the Force Public Relations Officer
(FPRO), Mrs. Olabisi Kolawole, an Assistant Commissioner of Police
(ACP), said owing to the nature of the incident, Oruru was now being
provided with the necessary psychological and medical attention,
preparatory to her rejoining her family.
